Chairperson of the Advisory Panel – Deeba Salim Irfan
Deeba Salim Irfan is a writer, a poet and an entrepreneur based in Dubai.
She is the founder of ‘Young Author Awards’ which is backed by industry experts from India, Middle East and UK. She has launched it under the banner of ‘The Write Scene’, a portal for aspiring writers.
Her debut novel, Urma, with a backdrop of Iranian revolution was published in India, translated into Urdu and nominated for an award. Currently it is being translated into two more languages outside India. A few of her poems from her book – ‘Charcoal Blush’ have been translated into Nepalese.
She is also a ‘Brand Expert’ – with extensive experience in advertising and events She has launched multinational brands and has handled mega scale international events and awards.

Keki N. Daruwalla is a major Indian poet and writer in English. He has written over 12 books. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award, in 1984 for his poetry collection, The Keeper of the Dead, by the Sahitya Akademi, India’s National Academy of Letters. He was awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India, in 2014.

Namita Gokhale is an Indian writer, publisher and festival director. She is the author of fourteen books including eight works of fiction.Things to Leave Behind has been published in November 2016. Namita Gokhale is a founder-director of the ‘Jaipur Literature Festival’ along with William Dalrymple and festival adviser of ‘Mountain Echoes’ a literary festival in Bhutan.

Book Awards Jury – Claire Meadows
Claire Meadows is Editor in Chief and Founder of After Nyne Magazine, one of the UK’s best-regarded coffee table arts publications. She is a regular commentator on BBC Radio Oxford and writes on arts/social issues for the Huffington Post. Her third poetry collection for Urbane Publications, Leaving Long Shadows is due to be published in Spring 2017. She graduated with honours in Literature from the Open University in 2009.

Amrita Tripathi is a freelance journalist and novelist, working primarily in digital media at present. She writes contemporary fiction — both of her novels Broken News and The Sibius Knot deal with life, relationships and the darker side of urban realities. Tripathi has set up The Health Collective, a site dedicated to raising awareness on mental health. She is working on her third novel at present, co-curates @genderlogindia, a crowd-sourced Twitter handle on gender identity, and anchors a series of interviews with authors. Author Dina El Shammaa is inspired by innocence, simplicity and beauty. She captivates readers with a compelling fiction novel, The Trials of Allura, which sheds light on little-known aspects of women’s lives in the Middle East.
The well-travelled writer credits her rich layers of writing to everyday life experiences and exposure to different cultures. Her extensive journalism and writing experience have earned her international recognition and continues to speak out for itself.

Samit Basu has been writing novels since the age of 23. His books include the bestselling Indian series The Gameworld Trilogy, that created the field of Indian speculative fiction in English, the international award-winning superhero series Turbulence and Resistance, published by Titan Books, and a children’s series, The Adventures of Stoob. Basu also writes graphic fiction, screenplays and short fiction.

Ziya Us Salam is Senior Deputy Editor, The Hindu. A noted film and literary critic, he has contributed to anthologies Being Young in the Worlds of Islam and Present Tense: Living on the Edge. He edited the book House full: The Golden Age of Hindi Cinema, published by Om Books International. His books Delhi 4 Shows and Strands of Commonality: Postcard of Islam in the subcontinent are due to be released shortly. He has served on the juries of International Film Festival of India, Best Writing in Cinema and Vatavaran.
Book Awards Jury – Arunava Sinha
Arunava Sinha is a noted Indian translator of Bengali literature. He won the Crossword translation award, for Sankar’s Chowringhee (2007) and Anita Agnihotri’s Seventeen(2011), respectively, and the winner of the Muse India translation award (2013) for Buddhadeva Bose’s When The Time Is Right. He has also been shortlisted for the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize (2009) for his translation of Chowringhee.

Preeti Shenoy, among the top five highest selling authors in India, is also on the Forbes longlist of the most influential celebrities in India. She is the highest selling woman writer in India. Her work has been translated to many languages.
India Today has named her as being unique for being the only woman in the best-selling league. She has been awarded the ‘Indian of the Year’ award for 2017 by Brands Academy for her contribution to Literature. She has also received the Academia award for Business Excellence by the New Delhi Institute of Management. She is the recipient of the ‘100 Young Indian women Achievers award’ in the Powerful leader category. She has given talks in many premier educational institutions such as IITs and IIMs and corporate organisations like KPMG, Infosys and Accenture. She is also an artist specialising in portraiture and illustrated journalling.
Her short stories and poetry have been published in various magazines such as Conde Nast and Verve.
She has a very popular blog and also writes a weekly column in The Financial Chronicle. She has a massive online following. Her other interests are travel, photography and yoga. Her books include It’s All In The Planets, Why We Love The Way We Do, The Secret Wish List, The One You Cannot Have and many others.

Damian Horner began his career in advertising. Set up an agency and won a load of awards. Sold the agency and went travelling. He freelanced for ten years as a marketing strategist for people like Random House, Microsoft, among others. Came back to the UK and works with Hachette on Innovation projects. At Hachette, he is involved with optimising the commercial and brand value of Hachette Books, Authors, IP, Imprints, Divisions and the Group itself.
Creative Jury – Jon Kirk
Jon Kirk is the Managing Director of Palamedes PR, an Internationally-acclaimed book PR agency and the UK market-leader in non-fiction. The agency boasts a well-earned reputation for orchestrating high-profile, award-winning PR campaigns and represents many of the biggest names in the industry. Jon is a former news, features and travel journalist at South West News Service, The Sunday People and The Sunday Times, among others, and was named Britain’s Reporter of the Year by Press Gazette. He is a published author, editor, and the former publisher of a nationwide magazine.

The FIRST ever, International awards with a purpose of recognizing the ‘Young Authors’ under the age of 35 for their nominated work, published between 1st Jan 2015 to 31st Dec 2016. We also have a set of awards to encourage the team behind them who helpsthem achieve their dreams and in the process carve a niche for themselves too. The idea is to have the industry as a whole, encourage the ‘Young’ to pick their pen and write more and the aim is to foster a climate that would make them achieve more and we are here to recognize such efforts on an International level.
In this inaugural year, Authors of English language are eligible. These awards shall be expanded across Arabic and other languages as well.
